Brief Description
During worship and for some church events, a nursery is provided for children under five so that parents can fully participate in worship. The nursery is staffed by volunteers.
Getting Involved
Those interested in being a nursery attendant should sign up on the schedule outside the nursery room. Attendants must be 14 or older. There is not a requirement that attendants have children of nursery age, and, in fact, all are encouraged to take a turn caring for the youngest in our congregation. Nursery attendants supervise and play with the children while they are in the nursery. Once the service is over, attendants are also responsible for ensuring that the nursery room has been picked up and that toys have been put away.
In addition to the nursery attendants, the Nursery Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the volunteer schedule and recruiting volunteer attendants.
Time
Volunteer attendants should be in the nursery room 10-15 minutes before the start of the service and should expect to stay until the last child is picked up by a parent (typically 5-10 minutes after the service). The Nursery Coordinator time is spent creating the schedule or sign-up sheet and recruiting volunteers.

Sharing coffee and goodies is a wonderful part of Sunday morning fellowship. The Coffee Hour gives people a place to meet one another, catch up on the week's events, share concerns, and laugh together. Those who host the Coffee Hour set up coffee before the 8:00am service and keep the coffee flowing until clean up following the second service. If you have the gift of hospitality, this would be a great place for you to serve. If you have questions about this ministry, please contact Grace Schultz. |
