Bethel's Summer Sunday School 2008
Bethel offer's an 8 week Summer Sunday School beginning June 22 and running through August 17 (skipping July 6). We invite children and youth to join us in an experience of learning and fellowship, fun and spiritual growth. While schools are not in session we will enjoy a change of pace and something a little different while at the same time experiencing the joys of learning and worship. Bethel offers two opportunities:
“Experience Faith”. Children, youth and their parents will be welcomed by “Hosts” who help create a welcoming environment. “Presenters” will have activities and experiences that help participants see how faith is lived out through their interests and God-given abilities. We begin on June 22 celebrating Caregivers and we plan to have a fire engine. Throughout the summer, we will also play games, sing and have snacks as we learn about world hunger, life in Namibia and El Salvador (Metro DC Synod Companions), and Vacation Bible School. If you are interested in helping the presenters and hosts, please contact Pastor Jeff.
“Our Neighbor’s Faith”. Youth and adults will enjoy a casual learning environment in which we discuss the basic beliefs of religions and denominations selected through a survey of the congregation. We will study Islam, Judaism, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), Jehovah’s Witness, Mennoite-Amish, Roman Catholic, Baptist, and Brethren.
